Supreme is a premium high-yielding hybrid cultivar with superior performance that offers plant vigour, pest and drought tolerance to help farmers meet the demands of modern agricultural markets. The cultivar is distributed in partnership between Big Stars Feed Ltd, Ghana and Fieldnest Agritech, India-Hyderabad.

Supreme has been certified by the National Varietal Release and Registration Committee (NVRRC), Ghana and meets international quality standards, PPRSD and CSRI.

• Ecology: Supreme is suitable for cultivation across all the West Africa cropping regions. Highly adaptable to all soil and climatic conditions (drought and waterlogged).

1. Yield potential: 8-9 tons per hector (i.e. 4 tons per acre)

2. Maturity:  75-80 days to fresh fruit and 90 days to harvest

3. Adaptability:

   • Drought/ heat tolerance: Performs well under water-stressed conditions

   • Soil type: Suitable for various soil types and farming conditions

   • Disease/ pest resistance: Resistant to common maize diseases and pests, including leaf blight and rust.
